Choose a pathway that matches the question
Start with the available messaging, consultation or blood-test-review route. Describe what you want help deciding and whether the concern is new, ongoing or a follow-up. The provider may advise a different format or in-person care when examination or investigation is needed.

Confirm the service before sharing records
Check availability in your location, clinician credentials, fees, response or appointment timing, and the secure channel for records. Do not assume the website’s pathway description means an appointment has been booked or a clinician has accepted responsibility for your care.

Prepare and take part
Bring a symptom timeline, medicine and supplement list, allergies and relevant original reports. State any important change since your last appointment. Ask the clinician to explain unfamiliar terms and the reasoning behind a proposed next step; device estimates should remain clearly identified as estimates.

Follow through after the conversation
Save the agreed plan and confirm who arranges tests, reviews results and provides follow-up. Know how to raise a new concern and what circumstances require urgent assessment. A digital conversation is one part of care; it does not remove the need for local services when those are appropriate.
